This month, my goal was to write a 40,000 word novel. Unfortunately this month was surprisingly busy. I had my school camp, my birthday, and lots of school show rehearsals. At the beginning of the month, I was writing over 1,000 words a day, and thought I'd make my goal. But then my school camp came and ruined it. Even though it wasn't overnight, every day that week I'd come home and be too tired to write.
After that I started slacking. I finally admitted that I wasn't going to make 40,000, so I changed it to 30,000. This seemed like a much more reachable goal. Towards the end of the month, I started getting into it more, writing at least 2,000 words a day. Then, on the 29th of November, I reached my goal.
It was a tiring month, and towards the end my brain wasn't functioning as well as it normally is, as you can see in this tweet I tweeted.
Actually, you can't see the tweet because I couldn't figure out how to get it onto this post. But you can scroll through my tweets on twitter (@mountainofbooks) and find it.
But overall, I'm glad I did it again. Next year I'll try and get 40,000, and maybe the year after that I'll do the main NaNoWriMo. It's an experience I'd recommend to everyone.
